Search resumes inside a job’s pipeline

Search a job’s candidates by name and resume text, see where each word appears, and add the people you find to another job.

Search names and resumes in one box

Open a job’s candidate pipeline and type in the search box, which now reads Search names and resumes. It looks at candidate names and at the text of their resumes. On a Chief Financial Officer job, for example, type payroll to find who has payroll experience.

Names match instantly. Resume matches appear a moment later, so the board can show name matches first and then add the resume matches.

See who matches and why

The board narrows to the matching candidates. Stages with no matches fold away, and each column shows matches out of total, for example 2 / 12. Each matching card shows a short excerpt of the resume with the word highlighted and how many times it appears.

A bar above the board says how many candidates match, for example 7 of 40 candidates match “payroll”. From the bar you can select all matches, switch between matching all words or any word when you type more than one word, and jump to searching all candidates for the same word.

Open a resume from the results and your words are highlighted in PDF resumes, so you can go straight to the part that matters. Step to the next or previous match from the resume panel, and add the candidate to another job from there.

Know which resumes could not be searched

A “can’t be searched” note lists the candidates whose resume can’t be searched yet, either because there is no resume on file or because the resume is still being read. Their names still match, so a candidate missing from the results is not always a candidate without the skill.

A resume uploaded a moment ago can take a short while before its text is searchable. Check the note, then search again once it has been read.

Reuse a pipeline for another role

Select the candidates you want and choose Add to job in the selection toolbar to add them to another job, for example a Payroll Director role. They stay on the current job too. Anyone already on the other job is skipped and reported, so nobody is added twice.

This lets you reuse a pipeline for your other open roles without opening every resume. Searching does not change any candidate; nothing is added to another job until you choose Add to job.

How matching works and where it stops

Words need at least two letters. Each word matches the start of a word in the resume, so pay finds payroll and payable. By default every word you type must appear; switch to any word from the bar when you want a wider net.

There is no exact-phrase search and no way to exclude a word. Search inside a job covers only the candidates in that job, and only candidates in your company. To look beyond the job, use the bar’s option to search all candidates for the same word.
